The Apostles’ Creed=使徒信条

英語で祈ろうシリーズ、今回取り上げるのはThe Apostles’ Creed（アパァソゥス クリード）、日本語ですと「使徒信条」と一般的に呼ばれるかと思います。

今回から4回に分けて、この使徒信条を英語で言えるようにするシリーズをお送りします。

使徒信条とは、祈りというよりは文字通り、キリスト教信仰で何を信じているのか、というその内容がまとめられている信条、になります。この内容はどのようなキリスト教の宗派であっても同じであると思います。

バージョンによって、微妙に言葉や表現の仕方が違うものがあるのですが、ここで取り上げているものは、カトリック教会で祈られているバージョンになります。

使徒信条・全文と音声

こちらに全文を載せますが、段階的に練習できるようパートごとに区切ってあります、が、元の文にこのような区切りはありませんのでご了承下さい。

(A)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, 
Creator of heaven and earth, 
and in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord, 
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, 
born of the Virgin Mary, 

(B)
suffered under Pontius Pilate, 
was crucified, died and was buried; 
He descended into hell; 
on the third day He rose again from the dead;

(C)
He ascended into heaven, 
and is seated at the right hand of God  
the Father Almighty; 
from there He will come to judge  
the living and the dead.   

(D)
I believe in the Holy Spirit, 
the Holy Catholic Church, 
the communion of Saints, 
the forgiveness of sins, 
the resurrection of the body, 
and life everlasting.  
Amen.

使徒信条を段階的に練習していきましょう

内容的にもキリスト教会独自の言葉だったり言い回しだったりがたくさんあって普段遣いの言葉ではないので、少々大変かと思います。また全体的にとても長い文章になりますので、少し短く区切って4つのパートにわけて段階的に作っていきましょう。

パートごとに読み方などを動画にまとめていきますので、ぜひこの動画と一緒に練習してみて下さい。
